The Mexican Chili Cookoff Board is excitedly planning for an even bigger party in 2008 than last year's Cookoff Blast.  February 15, 16 and 17 will feature non-stop entertainment, prize-winning chili to sample, many kinds of food and beverages, arts and crafts booths, raffles and door prizes-all at Tobolandia, a new site for this bigger and better event!

The 30th Mexican Chili Cookoff begins Thursday evening, February 14, 2008 at La Nueva Posada Hotel in Ajijic. This will be the first opportunity for the judges and volunteers to welcome the cooks competing for the Jalisco State Chili Verde Championship , the Jalisco State Chili Rojo Championship , the Mexican Salsa Championship , and the Mexican National Chili Championship , as well as the local entries for the People's Choice Competitions (Salsa, Home Cooks & Local Chefs) . Open bar--and open to the public.

This year the People's Choice Competitions, for locals to compete with each other, is proving very popular.  Spots for the 12 entries for each competition are going fast-see the Mexican Chili Cookoff website at www.mexicanchilicookoff.com to sign up.
